My name is Mr. William Freeman and I am the coordinator for El Sereno's Gifted, and Math, Science, and Technology Magnet Center. I have worked at El Sereno Middle School since 1992 and over the years have worn many different hats: I have been an English teacher, Magnet English teacher, English Department Chair, Teamworks Coordinator, Standards Based Coordinator, Dean of Students, GATE Coordinator and Magnet Coordinator.
After graduating from Blair High School in Pasadena, I attended PCC, USC, UCSB and ultimately graduated from UCLA with a bachelor's degree in English in 1989. In 2007, I graduated from CSULA with a master's degree in Educational Administration and received my Tier 1 Administrative Credential.
I am a supporter of the Growth Mindset concept as delineated by Carol Dweck, Ph.D: I believe that all students are capable of success and that there is a direct link between effort, ability and achievement.
Please email me or call if you have any questions. Thank you.
