Good morning IB college-bound scholars – this is Marissa Navarro, your ASB Secretary, and special guest Communicators with your Monday Morning Announcements:

For the month of December, our IB Learner Profile Attribute is Knowledgeable: Knowledgeable IB students explore concepts, ideas and issues that have local and global significance. In so doing, they acquire in-depth knowledge and develop understanding across a broad and balanced range of disciplines. Are you Knowledgeable? Be a Knowledgeable IB student today and every day, and you, your class, your, school, your family, your friends, your community, your nation and your world will be better off and more peaceful because of it.

Important Announcements from Principal Dara: Congratulations to Jacob Franco-Funez for being last week’s Achieve 3000 achiever! Keep up the great work with Achieve 3000 and continue to achieve higher! Attention teachers and students: We are still missing some emergency forms. Please turn in your emergency forms as soon as possible to the Attendance Office. Thank you. Lastly, teachers, please be sure to submit attendance during the first 15 minutes of each period every day. Your attention to this matter is very much appreciated. Be on the T.E.A.M. because Together El Sereno Achieves More.

Good Morning Jaguars, this is Alondra Nava, your ASB President. The PSAT is Coming: Attention all college bound 8th grade Jaguar scholars. El Sereno Middle School will be giving the official PSAT on Saturday, March 2nd 2019. The PSAT is the official practice for the SAT, which is a test needed to apply for college. If you wish to participate, the test fee is $11 and will be collected by Ms. Yee during lunch this week and the week we come back from break. Good luck!

Capture Your 2018-2019 Memories: On Wednesdays, Our Yearbook staff will be outside near the Purple Commons during first and second lunch. 6th, 7th and 8th graders, Ms. Jackie and Ms. Tenorio are looking for your Snapchat filters. 8th graders, please keep those baby pictures coming in! Thank you!

Good Morning this is Nashla Flores: For our IB Community Project all this week we are hosting a toy drive for the kids at Children's Hospital. Please turn in your new unwrapped toy donations to the Magnet Office. This Friday will be the final day to donate. Thank you in advance for donating a toy to help bring joy to the life of a child in need. Your generosity is most appreciated.

Good Morning Jaguars, this is Rocio Garcia, your ASB Historian with Important Announcements from our Friendly Librarian: Thank you to all for our very successful book fair! Congratulations to Samarah Trujillo for winning a new book, and to Fernando Juarez for guessing the number of marshmallows. There were 283 marshmallows in the jar! The library will be closed during break and lunch today. Ms. Churchill apologizes for any inconvenience.

Lunchtime Clubs: Our Knitting club meets Tuesdays during both lunches. Our Comic Book club meets Thursday during both lunches. This Friday our Anime club will not be meeting.

Picture Packets: Students who ordered the photo ID picture packets and/or 8th Grade Gown picture packets may pick them up from the student store before school, after the school, during morning break and at lunch.

Good Morning Jaguars, this is Jaden Rattay, your ASB Vice President. Safe and Civil Reminder – Anti-Bullying Policy: Students – El Sereno Middle School and Magnet Center is committed to providing a Safe and Civil learning environment. We take a strong stand against bullying or any behavior that threatens the safety or wellbeing of students, faculty, or staff members. If you are being bullied, tell an adult immediately. If you have witnessed somebody bullying others, you can report it anonymously by writing a note and dropping it in one of the red, white and blue Stop Bullying Now boxes located in each office. Thank you in advance for being Principled and Caring IB Learners and help keep El Sereno Safe! Be Respectful, be Responsible, be Safe, and be Jaguar Paws-itive.

Jaguar Paws: Earn your Jaguar Paws by demonstrating the skill, qualities and characteristics of IB Learners. On Fridays we raffle off prizes to lucky students who have earned and turned in their Jaguar Paws to the Main Office. Good luck to everyone!
