Good morning IB college-bound scholars ! This is Marissa Navarro, your ASB Secretary, and special guest Communicators with your Monday Morning Announcements:
For the month of February, our IB Learner Profile Attribute is Balanced: Balanced students understand the importance of intellectual, physical and emotional balance to achieve personal well-being for themselves and others. Be a Balanced IB student today and every day, and you, your class, your, school, your family, your friends, your community, your nation and your world will be better off and more peaceful because of it.
Good Morning Jaguars, this is Mr. Freeman with Important Announcements from Principal Dara: Congratulations to Mr. Legaspi and to Ashley Interiano for being selected for the 2019 All-State Honor Band! Your hard work is sincerely appreciated and recognized! Attention 8th Graders! This Friday is our 3rd Community Project minimum-day. You should be done with journals 1-10. We can’t wait to see how you are helping our communities! Also, I’m excited to announce that our school has been selected to participate in the 2019 National Assessment of Educational Progress, also known as NAEP, on Wednesday, February 20th. Some of our best and brightest 8th-graders have been selected to take assessments in mathematics and reading. To those that have been selected for this important test, you have all our support and we have NO doubt that you will represent us well! Thank you in advance for your involvement. Additionally, next Monday, February 18th is Presidents’ Day and all LAUSD schools will be closed. School resumes on Tuesday, February 19th. Lastly, thank you to teachers for having 100% attendance submitted Friday. Let’s do the same again today! Thank you and have a great day everyone. Good Morning Jaguars, this is Alondra Nava, your ASB President, with an Important Announcement from Leadership: This Thursday is Valentine’s Day! Send a Valentine’s Candygram to that special someone. Valentine’s Candy Grams are on sale for $1 each. They will be delivered on Valentine’s Day. Keep an eye out for Leadership’s table in the purple commons during lunch. You can also buy one from Ms. Jauregui in room B49 or from a Leadership student.
IB Project Call for Donations: Ms. Austin has an IB group that is collecting recyclable bath and body products. Anything that is an empty shampoo/lotion/toothpaste/body wash tube/bottle works! We are collecting these items for a cancer research institute that uses these items to help raise money for research. Please turn in donations to M-2. Also, our Rock Band meets for practice every Friday from 3 to 4 PM in M-2. We are still looking for guitar players.
Good Morning Jaguars, this is Rocio Garcia, your ASB Historian. Lunchtime Clubs: Good Morning Animaniacs! Anime Club will be meeting today at 2nd Lunch to make up for last Friday. We will also be meeting this Friday at 2nd Lunch to resume our regular schedule. We’re meeting twice this week! Yippee! We hope to see you there in room 206!
Also, guess what’s new and coming up this Thursday? The first meeting of our new ESMS Theater Club! Please come join us in room 206 this Thursday at 2nd Lunch. If you’re interested in acting, music, dance, comedy, drama, film, TV and the stage, come join us and become a star! We look forward to seeing you all very soon! Our Knitting club will not be meeting this week but will resume next Tuesday. Our Comic Book club meets Thursday during both lunches in room 213.

Safe and Civil Reminder – Electronics Policy: Students – LAUSD policy states that personal items such as cell phones, cameras, electronic games, etc. should not be brought to school since such items can be distracting to the educational process and may be confiscated by school personnel. If you bring a cell phone, it must be turned off and put away in your backpack during the entire school day. Thank you in advance for being Principled and for adhering to District and school policy. Be Respectful, be Responsible, be Safe, and be Jaguar Paws-itive.
Safe and Civil Meets Today: Our Safe and Civil Committee meets today after school in Conference Room B. All faculty and staff are invited to attend.
Jaguar Paws: Earn your Jaguar Paws by demonstrating the skill, qualities and characteristics of IB Learners. On Fridays we raffle off prizes to lucky students who have earned and turned in their Jaguar Paws to the Main Office. Good luck to everyone!
